Posted by I’ve finished a piece for violin, viola, and cello. It will someday be the first movement in a four-movement work, but I’ve put aside that project to move on to more interesting textures. I have a hankering for a large mixed string/woodwind ensemble, so I’ll be embarking on that soon.

The piece is in sonata form, or first-movement form, with the following sections:
-Primary theme exposition (starts at beginning of piece)
-Secondary theme exposition: 2:00
-Development: 4:30
-Recapitulation of primary theme: 12:15
-Recapitulation of secondary theme: 14:18
